Edgebanding — the service you kept asking for

For years, customers picked up their cut parts and asked the same question on the way out: "Can y'all band the edges too?" Now the answer is yes — full speed and full service. We put a Homag edgebander on the floor, and we didn't pick that name by accident. Homag invented the automatic edgebanding machine over sixty years ago and has led the industry ever since — the same reason we run Thermwoods, we band with Homag: buy the machine the best work demands, then stand behind it.

What it does is simple to say and hard to fake: heated glue applied at exactly the right temperature, edges pressed under precise pressure, then trimmed and finished in one continuous pass. The result is a clean, durable edge — PVC, ABS, wood veneer, or solid strip — with a glue line you'll have to squint to find. No hand-ironing, no peeling corners, no second trip to another shop.

For you, it means parts that come off our floor ready for a finish. Cabinet boxes, drawer fronts, shelving, retail fixtures — cut, banded, and stacked in one stop, so your crew installs instead of sands. It's the biggest upgrade we've made in years, and it was our customers' idea. Keep those coming.

Three Machines, One Standard

We run three Thermwood CNC routers — built in Dale, Indiana by the company that made the first CNC routers in America, and the only major router manufacturer that designs and builds its own control system. Heavy, stress-relieved steel machines made to hold tolerance for decades. Ours have.

Our Model 40 was the machine that started it all in 2001 — a 5′ × 10′ workhorse that's been completely upgraded and still cutting, twenty-five years later. Beside it run our Model 43 and Model 53, each with a full 5′ × 20′ table. The 43 is built for high-performance nested work — cabinet parts, furniture components, and full-sheet layouts cut for maximum yield. The 53's moving gantry and fixed table are made for big material: oversized sheets, stack machining, and production runs that would swamp a smaller shop.

What that means for your project: twenty-foot parts with no splices. Full sheets nested edge to edge. Stacked cutting when the count gets serious. And with three machines on the floor, there's almost always a table open — which is how a big job and a same-week one-off can both leave here on time.

From your file to the machine — fast

Every job in our shop is programmed in Mastercam — the most widely used CAM software in the world, and the industry standard for a reason. Twenty-five years in it has made us very quick: your file comes in, and we post clean, efficient toolpaths tuned to our routers, often the same day. Fast programming is the difference between a quote and a finished part, and it's one of the quietest advantages we offer.

We prefer DXF or DWG files — they drop straight into our workflow — but don't let a file format stop you. We can work from nearly anything. Nobody cuts alone. Nashville Plywood sold us our first sheets back in 2001, and Plastic Supply has been a friend and supplier from the very beginning — we built this shop on those relationships, along with Walker Lumber, who've supplied Nashville builders for generations. Today most of our stock comes through Mimm's Lumber, and Piedmont Plastics has been a big supporter of our business for years, keeping our plastics and composites work fed with the right material at the right time.

Every one of these relationships took decades to build, and it's why we can promise what we promise: the right stock, a fair price, and material that shows up when your deadline needs it. Our suppliers aren't vendors to us — they're part of every part we cut.

What twenty-five years of projects looks like

Start in the music world, because we did. Stage sets and risers for touring acts. Speaker cabinets, amp faces, and pedalboards. Guitar templates and drum parts. Studio desks, rack housings, and the acoustic panels and diffusers that shape the sound of rooms where records get made. If it rolls into an arena or lives in a control room, there's a good chance we've cut a version of it.

Then the builders found us. Cabinet parts by the thousands — doors, boxes, and drawer fronts, now edgebanded in-house. Herringbone accent walls and feature paneling. Store fixtures and retail displays for national brands. Restaurant booths, bar tops, and hostess stands. Dimensional letters and sign blanks. Templates and jigs that other shops build their own work around.

NashvilleCNC opened its doors in 2001, cutting parts for the industry this town is built on. A quarter century later, more than 550 customers have trusted us with their work — from one-person workshops to national brands, from a single prototype to production runs that fill trucks.

Our roots show. We've cut for touring artists whose songs you know, for the builders of studio desks and monitors found in world-class control rooms, for amp makers, guitar builders, drum companies, and record pressing. There are stages, studios, and albums out there with our cuts inside them — and that will never stop being the best part of this job.

The craftsmen came next, and they stayed. Master furniture makers, cabinet shops, millwork houses, and sign makers — people who are themselves known for quality — send us their cutting.
